We’re excited to announce a few in demand features that launched last week.
Access KinKeeper on your desktop in any browser!
First, back by popular demand - the desktop web version of KinKeeper. Thanks so much for your patience while we launched mobile first, but heard your feedback loud and clear that sometimes you don’t want to type all that on your phone and also want to add documents and other items stored on your computer. So here you go…the new desktop web version allows you to add, edit, or update profile information, including upload Files and Attachments! For the time being, Sharing, Upcoming, Notifications, and Account Management are only available in the mobile app.
New Offline Mode when your connection is spotty
We’ve also added a feature that allows you to force the app into offline mode (think of it kind of like airplane mode for health info.) In order to optimize for sharing and collaboration, we built KinKeeper to be consistently online (like when you’re connected to cellular or Wifi) as well as work offline when you’re not connected. But you know the weird “in between” space where your phone says you have some signal yet you can’t seem to complete a phone call or text a photo? We’ve heard from some users (and experienced it ourselves) that the app can be slow to respond in those spots. Since healthcare settings like hospitals have notoriously bad cell and WiFi coverage, we want to ensure we’ve got you covered, no matter where you are. When you go into offline mode, you’ll have local access to all text based data (photos and files will be available in the next month in full offline mode.) And don’t worry - if you forget to go back online, the app will automatically take you online after midnight and will sync the next time you open the app.
Export profile data to a PDF
As a bonus, we’ve added in the initial feature for our Export to PDF function. You can now export Profile Basics and Info Types to a PDF. Next month we will have a Summary PDF and you can export whole Topics.
Thanks for your feedback and our favor is to keep it coming - because there are so many different ways that cell and WiFi issues impact how apps and other software functions on your phone, we’d ask that if you’re ever experiencing an issue using KinKeeper and have poor connectivity, we’d love a video, screenshot or email (at hello@kinkeeper.app) in the spirit of continuous improvement. Thanks again for allowing us to be part of your Kith + Kin (your friends and family) and we’re glad you’re part of ours.
